The best thing an Asian kid can do to increase his chance of admission is to mark "Decline to State" in the box where you're supposed to indicate your race.
A really ballsy Asian kid can market himself as Native American and all of a sudden his 3.9 high school GPA is no longer an embarrassment, but instead is a ticket to the Ivy League.
Don't take this the wrong way, but on average Indians are the most dishonest group of people I've ever dealt with. 100x worse than Chinese or even Saudis.
Its beyond that - fudge numbers in everything (I have direct experience with 50/50 JV's). Always under delivery. Do not live up to terms. Non stop lying culture that infests every level of employee. Etc. etc.
I've dealt with some great Indian Individual and even great departments, but overall the statement stands. China can also be tough to deal with, in the sense of they do business compared to doing biz in the NAA / EUR / LAA, but once you understand the culture, things can get done properly. This is no where near the case in India.
In any event, the Indo-European invaders known as the Indo-Aryans came and conquered both much of India and Persia by about 1500 BCE. They brought with them new gods and hymns dedicated to them. These hymns came to be called collectively the Vedas. The Vedic age is when Hinduism proper begins.
Archaeologists know Pasupati Shiva was around for AT LEAST a thousand years before your so-called "Vedic age."
Even the Rig Veda has unmistakeable antecedents that go back before 2000BC, as irregularities in the "Vedic" language of its text bespeak an origin rooted in Indo-Iranian, which had disappeared by the so-called "Vedic age."

A someone who works with offshore labor (india) I can confirm that someone from India will never admit that they can't do something. They will tell you right to your face "yes, no problem we can do that" when in fact they have no fucking clue what they are doing.
