Good thing the company didn't completely tank, or they'd have had to buy him his own island.

They justified by saying CEO's of major competitors were being paid that much, so they should as well. Just you know...because.

Redonkulous!!!

If Ansell was not able to match the pay levels among its competitors, it would start going backwards, he said.

anyone with shares or a 401k mutual fund should be out protesting OWS.

It's this kind of shit. Basically transferal of wealth away from the middle class to a few rich players.

And you're perfectly OK with this, Otis?

If you google a bit you can read that the new CEO has only been there a year or two. If they'd have put such a higher sum of money in the market in the first place, wouldn't they have been able to get a much more qualified person in the first place?

Just don't understand how this kind of stuff works. I'm a 99%er i guess...

The US-based chief executive of the gloves and condoms maker, Magnus Nicolin, defended the tripling of his pay packet to $3.5 million, saying it was benchmarked against peers.

Did they also benchmark it to cheap Chinese CEOs?

Instead of whining & complaining, you should go get a job as a CEO.

Except that it's an Australian company.

Oz is probably most like the USA of any other country.

I bet board compensation will also be going up soon then. I scratch your back, you scratch mine.

How did they determine his starting salary then? Wasn't that benchmarked against peers in the first place?

Nancy Mosher CEO Planned Parenthood $337,000
Brian A. Gallagher CEO United Way $1,200,000
Anthony Romero Executive Director ACLU $329,206
Caryl Stern CEO United States UNICEF $475,000

shouldn't these people be working for a blue collar wage or better yet minimum wage?

Just made a note for myself: will be asking my boss for a 200% pay rise on Monday!
