I agree that we all should be mentioning and strongly condemning these attacks that are really gruesome and an unbelievable insult to (Wo)Mankind.
She has NOT "whined" and "bitched" about PTSD and "what they did to me" but clearly stated that she HAS PTSD and that is chronic and she wants to be free of it but that is not the case. I do think it would be beneficial for her to contact the assaulted women from Tahrir but I am not comfortable with the thought of demanding this from her as a kind of duty. It just feels wrong. Nonetheless i find it very good that she clearly stated that she has post-traumatic Stress and that she still suffers. That is NOT whining or bitching but an adult honesty when it comes to telling YOU - the public - about what she is going through. All the time you and other want to know what happened in all details but details of her suffering you do not want to hear. You disregard it. That is NOT okay.
She is not the only one who has a voice. YOU have a voice too. You can make yourself heard every time you write here. Your voice counts and its saddening that you use it for low reasons.
Look: She HAS spoken up. She has told that she was attacked in Tahrir and she got the awards and speeches to get it across the public awareness. She has done her due. And concerning the fighting: She does not NEED to prove anything anymore. She was in countless countries where she was threatened and attacked and barely escaped with her life. She has fought as hard as she could in Tahrir. She is a fighter. She does not need to prove she has soul of a lioness.
Just to remind anyone (again) of WHAT PTSD really is. In 50-55% of rape cases or sexual abuse PTSD follows and means the simultaneous appearance of three Symptom-Groups:
1. Intrusions/Re-Experiencing:
"Stalking" by hurting memories of the rape and of the thoughts and feelings during the rape in a flash-like manner & nightmares of the rape
2. Avoidance and Numbing (emotional Freezing Symptoms): Avoidance of Feeling and Thinking concerning the rape Avoidance of the situation or place where the rape took place "I am never going to Egypt again!" emotional Freezing or Numbing Condition restricted control of affects
3. Chronic Hyperarousal: Unable to properly relax, Sleeping Disorders, Concentration and Memory Disorders, easily scared and easily upset
Very Likely our dear intrepid Reporter suffers many of these symptoms.
There are essentially two types of Allies and Partners. a) is almost like you and shares the same core ideals and even if they have a disagreement with you all is essentially well because the partnership runs waaaay deep and has taken root over many decades. b) is NOT like you and shits on you whenever you raise a finger at them doing rape and genocide to their own people and to you.
I agree that i write oftentimes the same things over and over again. I will put my argument forward why i do that. Essentially it comes down to the realization that human minds are SIEVES when it comes to Information. We tend to forget. So...repetitions should strengthen some core concepts that are - in my view - important.

By no action being taken or punishment for rape in Egypt,every women that visit there should know that these dogs will rape you in the street.They now wait to rape any women they desire at will for the sport of it.Stripping women nude alone in the street is a crime add hand or penis raping,these men should be caught and punish.Instead they are let off the lease to roam as a pack of dogs to mob rape women as cowards.

you do have to ask yourself, what the fuck were these dumb broads thinking!!! prance around egypt in the evening, a country that is destabalizing and notorous for rape. DUH! I guess I will nominate these stupid women for the 2012 Lara Logan "I asked for it" award.

Well. Not ALL Egyptians are raping beasts obviously. There are some who really try to stand for something better. For these people these...fine courageous ladies took a great risk. Sadly they suffered horribly because the worst case scenario happened. it was not their fault. And it would be raping them a second time to say so.
So...i would name these brave ladies for the 2012 Lara Logan "I suffered for truth and honor and dignity" award.
