70,4 Prozent of 498 Mandates are in the hands of the Islamists in Egypt now. 45,7 for the Muslim Brotherhood and Allies. 24,6 for the Salafists. That means a whopping 70% of Egyptians voted Islamist.
Hey where are the security people to protect Elizabeth Palmer? In 4:00 of the video, somebody just walk up and put a scarf around her neck and she doesn't know how to react. CBS is saying we could care less about you.

Did anyone else listen to her live broadcast the other night? Did she say her driver carried her through an alley into the square or out of the square?
Listening to that, she is really rewriting the stories. She was a useless incoherent mess at that time, but now states she was convinced and strong already.
That is human. To be honest i do not believe that the decision to come forward with what happened was to clearly cut from the beginning...but it dawned on her and to everybody else that this could not be hushed up. I do not say that to offend her it is something that countless journalists did and still do it is indeed "the code of silence". But the attack on her was so brutal and...public that it was not possible to silence anything. In that regard the Egyptians did not give her any choice. Whoever did order this attack...did play with fire in a certain sense because for maybe the first time in history a famous very public female journalist was openly and publicly sexually attacked and raped. It also can still come back to haunt Egypt and the military. It is sometimes very difficult to douse a ignited fuse. You may thing it is over but then you realize the fuse is still burning.
The problem with asking her NOW what she felt then is to ask the impossible because Lara Logan after the incident was another Lara Logan than before. And now a year after the incident and countless therapy hours she is another Lara Logan altogether. She is different to the Lara Logan BEFORE Tahir and Lara Logan AT Tahir. So her thought and feelings NOW reflect the change too. She has re-evaluated and re-defined herself in the last 12 months and we hear that too in her voice. in that regard I do not think she is re-writing anything here. It is just an ongoing process of making sense of what happened and putting it into a context that is acceptable and useful to her...that is also called healing i guess. So cut her some slack. She would do the same for you. Listen again to her talking about raped men that came to her to tell her of their stories.

It took Lara Logan 4-days for a statement and to admit she was attacked sexually,it took another 3-months to admit she was raped by hands front and back.If she took this long to admit something that should have been reported from day number-1,we can imagine how long for her to admit raped with penis,raped by several men (gangraped) and maybe she'll never admit being raped anally with penis,along with forced oral.Only time,Lara or Egyptians will tell.
Well...that is a good question. That should tell you something about what really happened. It seems that it was so terrible that nobody is keen in bringing in ANY eyewitnesses whatsoever.
The U.S. provides $1.3 billion in aid to the Egyptian military, but Congress passed legislation last year that says the money can only be released if the White House certifies that Egypt is complying with democratic principles.
Is that why we haven't seen any Lara Logan assault footage or heard from any eye witnesses?
That money would sure be a good argument for many Egyptians not to release anything soon. BTW: Democratic principles suck. It is better to tie it in with certain human rights principles.
