That's the summit of Everest,. See that long rope going down that has a bunch of colored flags on it? That has been placed there some time ago. It would be considers a "fixed rope on the summit of Everest"
Serious? I dislocated one knee and blew out three of the four ligaments in there. My ACL(replaced), PCL(replaced) and Medial(repiared) along with the injured Lateral collateral ligaments are hanging on for dear life aided along with 4 screws. Had two more but they required removed as they started to protrude outward from my shin and hurt like fuck. ON top of that, I have no meniscus and for the past 10 years my knee as been grinding itself to oblivion. At the followup of my last surgery on '03 my doctor asked if I wanted to schedule a knee replacement then - fuck man, I was only 29 at the time and said I'll wait. Still hanging on.
What is this shit? It looks like someone left a long rope so that 6 guys can attach to and climb up. Looks like they went from one rope to another too!
That's amazing!
Not to beat a dead horse, but the claims made earlier that Sherpas(or other experienced climbers) have set fixed lines/equipment so that the average retard can just latch onto to get to the summit is proven.

That's protection. You clip in with a quick draw. The ropes ensure (hopefully) that if you fall you don't fall very far. They are generally set on the sketchiest parts of the route.
But you still have to climb. The ropes don't do any climbing for you. They just ensure (hopefully) you don't fall off the mountain.

Read "Into thin Air" or "The Man who Skied down Everest" -- in both there are people who have only walked up a few local hills before and they mostly do fine. The sherpas carry their oxygen bottles, satellite phones, champagne etc.

its a tow rope, retard
Yep. And the Sherpas are there every morning to put gasoline in the mule engine at the summit that powers the tow rope (google around for some pics of the mule engine, you'll find them).

Yeah, there are a few photos on that Project Himalaya site that show Sherpas carrying heavy ass loads weigh half their weight. In addition to the stuff you listed, they also carry the tents, food, cooking items, extra ropes and climbing equipment among other things. The rich white people just carry their little oxygen masks. If you notice, most if not all the Sherpas don't use the masks.

I heard they're building a lift like they have on ski resorts and they have like 20 Sherpa children pull the ropes and pulleys taking Chip, Buffy, and Mitch to the summit.
